Read MoreThe atmosphere surrounding Celtic is about to change massively
Are you sick of the same old negative atmosphere surrounding Celtic Football Club? Then don’t worry, things are finally about to change.
We’ve had a shocking time of it over the last 12 months. A total collapse of the fabled 10 pursuit combined with a boardroom that failed to see the warning signs and sack Neil Lennon earlier. We then decided to bafflingly give John Kennedy the interim gig in a spell that saw him win four out of 11 games.
That’s not even mentioning the Eddie Howe disaster. I was the first to be reassuring over that particular saga, doing my best to put everyone at ease and inform them that, one way or another, the announcement will be made.
How stupid I made myself look then when it turned out the board once again managed to make a mess of things. Even I didn’t see them failing to get that one over the line.
So you could easily say I’m being naive again. What makes me believe that Ange Postecoglou will definitely be announced? Well, as we’ve learned this season, nothing is certain. A deal isn’t done until a deal is done, but in my view, Celtic won’t make the same mess of things this time around.
Ange Postecoglou’s arrival will change the atmosphere around Celtic
It’s been reported that he’s expected to be in the door this week. His match against Honda this morning was said to be his final game in charge of Yokohama F.Marinos [The Times].
Celtic fans are already starting to feel Ange fever pouring through them. The excitement is starting to build, with the unknown element to this appointment providing plenty of intrigue for the Hoops support.
Howe was incredibly exciting because we knew what we were getting and what it could look like at Celtic. Postecoglou, on the other hand, comes with a major reputation from Australia and Japan but with nothing for Celtic fans to really go on. It’s the promise of something new, something vibrant, that’s getting us all giddy about this one.
Postecoglou’s track record of constant success wherever he’s gone is difficult to ignore. It’s the kind of thing that can only inject further excitement into his potential appointment.

As soon as the announcement is made, and we pray it’s soon, the atmosphere will instantly change. Yes, there will be question marks over his backroom team and potential Director of Football. There remains plenty for Celtic to answer. But as soon as he starts talking about rebuilding the football club and outlining his plans, the constant negativity that’s been around will change dramatically.
All of a sudden, it’ll be replaced by Postecoglou-mania. The rebuild will have finally begun and Celtic will be able to look forward to a fresh start. We’ve had far too many negative headlines we’ve had to read and write over the last several months. The vast majority of it extremely justified.
But Postecoglou’s arrival is going to change the mood amongst the support, and subsequently therefore the football club. Come August, we’ll be in a totally different place to where we are now. When Ange is in the door, watch how moods begin to change.
