The comforting signs amidst tricky Celtic test narrative this weekend vs Ross County

Ross County at Dingwall is regarded by many as a tough place to go. The Staggies have a reputation for keeping things tight and hitting on the counterattack, especially when Celtic come to town.

One fixture that remains embedded in the Celtic support’s minds is the Anthony Ralston game. We all know it. The now famous 96th-minute strike is widely regarded as one of the key results that drove us to the title last season.

And when you think that night we had Adam Montgomery, Josip Juranovic and Liel Abada as our front three, that makes that result all the more remarkable. But I do wonder if the Dingwall is a tough place to go narrative is all in our heads because the head-to-head stats certainly don’t suggest it is.

Celtic have faced County in the Highlands in the league a grand total of sixteen times. Out of that, we have won eleven, drawn three and lost only two. [FitbaStats]

Both defeats came under Neil Lennon. One of them came in the season that shall not be mentioned with the other away back in 2013 where we lost 3-2.

We have scored a grand total of 41 goals and conceded just thirteen. We average over 2.5 goals per game whilst conceding less than one.

All signs point to a comfortable away win, but clearly, Ange Postecoglou will not have his team turn up with that expectation. The gaffer will be extremely focused on getting the three points. That is it. And a good performance.

For the fans, all that matters is the win. Whether it’s by one goal or five goals, as long as the league table shows another three points added to our tally, we won’t care how we get there.

More likely than not, however, is the Bhoys back to rude scoring health on this record-setting pace.

In other news, There is more to Jota’s game than meets the eye as Celtic club tweet perfectly demonstrates.
