Following the 1-1 draw with Cluj in the Champions League qualifier, Neil Lennon’s Celtic side return to league action on Saturday with a trip to Fir Park to face Motherwell.

The team selected by Lennon will be interesting, as he will not want to make too many changes to his team, to jeopardise the Hoops’ chances of winning the game.

It must also be taken into consideration though, that the second leg against Cluj will take place only three days after the Motherwell match.

So there will be some changes made. Here, we look at three changes the Hoops boss must make for the match against Motherwell:

JONNY HAYES IN FOR BOLI BOLINGOLI-MBOMBO

It is fair to say that Boli Bolingoli-Mbomobo didn’t have the best of games against Cluj. Indeed, he struggled badly at times. Therefore, it is best that he is rested for the trip to Motherwell. Jonny Hayes is more than capable of filling in at left-back. It might not be his first-choice position, but he has played there in the past, under Neil Lennon. He should be able to cope well enough with any Motherwell attacks.

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN FOR JOZO SIMUNOVIC

This seems like the obvious move to make, especially as Simunovic went off injured against Cluj. Jullien needs some game time since his move from Toulouse, this seems like the ideal match for him to make his league debut. Should Simunovic miss the second leg against Cluj, it will likely be a Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer partnership. Therefore, it makes sense to play the two together at Fir Park.

LEIGH GRIFFITHS IN FOR ODSONNE EDOUARD

Edouard has been in good form for the Hoops this season, but such is his importance to the team that he should be rested with Cluj in mind. The Hoops have an ideal replacement available in Griffiths. He has already shown that he has an eye for goal this season with two strikes so far. You would not be surprised to see him add to that tally against Motherwell.
