Celtic are currently in an excellent position in the Europa League group stages heading into Thursday night’s Europa League match against Lazio.
The Hoops have seven points from three games, and sit at the top of group E. They should still be in a good position to qualify even if they lose to Lazio. That is why there should be no panic about progression in the Europa League should the Hoops go down to defeat in Italy.
The Hoops will still be ahead of both Lazio and Rennes in the group stages no matter the result on Thursday night. That will put progress to the last 32 in Celtic’s own hands.
Hoops boss will be confident of progression

Neil Lennon will certainly not panic should Celtic lose in Italy. He will be confident that his Celtic side are more than capable of getting positive results in the final two games of the group stage.
That shows how the Celtic side have improved in the weeks and month since the 4-3 loss to Cluj in the Champions League qualifiers.
At that stage of the season, it looked like Celtic might struggle. However, the team has since then put together a run of good results both domestically and in Europe. The most recent game in Europe was the 2-1 win over Thursday’s opponents, Lazio.
Victory in last group stage game was sign of a good team

Celtic might not have been at their best in that game, but the team were still able to get the result on the night. That is the sign of a good team.
The current Celtic side is of the best on the last 10 years. However, better Celtic teams in the past have struggled away from home in Europe. It would not be a shock to see the Hoops lose to Lazio. However, there should be no panic about any loss. The Hoops can still qualify for the last 32 even if they lose in Rome.
