With the transfer window opening in a matter of weeks, Celtic will be looking to make additions to a squad which is badly in need of freshening up.

With that in mind, we are going to examine players who have featured recently in the Scottish Premiership who would make a good addition to the Celtic squad.

DAVID TURNBULL (Motherwell)

Arguably the hottest prospect in Scottish football at the moment. Turnbull had a superb season at Motherwell, scoring 16 goals, and looks to be one of the best players Scotland has produced in a long time. Motherwell bosses recently claimed it would take a record fee to sign the central midfielder. Celtic should consider paying the required fee before they miss out.

Postecoglou hints at big week of Celtic announcements

The midfielder recently departed Hibs to return to Genoa after a highly successful six month loan spell at Easter Road. His tenacious qualities in the middle of the park were there for all to see. He turned in a series of excellent performances for Paul Heckingbottom’s side. The player’s contract with Genoa runs until 2022. That should not prevent the Hoops looking to swoop in and pick up what looks to be a very good player.

The right-back has been a key man for Steve Clarke’s Kilmarnock side, making 43 appearances this season. The former Celtic youth player would be a more than welcome addition to the side. He would help to fix a problem position that the Hoops have been trying to find a solution to for a long time. O’Donnell could be the first choice right-back for years at Celtic Park.
