Transfer speculation over Tierney is the last thing Celtic support need right now

With the failure to land David Turnbull still fresh in their memories, the last thing the Celtic support will want to read about is one of their key men being linked with a move away from the club.

However, that seems to now be the case. Kieran Tierney is wanted by Arsenal according to the Daily Mail, with the Premier League side set to bid for the left-back within the next week.

The report also claims that Celtic will only accept a bid that would be similar to the £20 million the Hoops received from Lyon for Moussa Dembele.

It would not go down well with the Hoops support if Tierney was to be sold. He is one of the best players in the side. Also, if he left it would give the Hoops a major problem at left-back.

Recovering from an operation

He is one of the few players in the side that are irreplaceable at the moment. The intriguing thing about the reported Arsenal interest is the timing. Tierney isn’t fit at the moment. He is recovering from a double hernia operation.

However, Arsenal must believe that the player can overcome his injury and get back to his best.

Naturally Neil Lennon will want to keep Tierney at the club. However, if Arsenal do bid around £20 million for the player Celtic will have a big decision to make.
