The final international break until March has been and gone, providing some big moments for our Bhoys.
12 Celtic stars featured in the November internationals as places at the 2026 World Cup were on the line across the globe.
It was largely a break to remember for some of the Hoops, but there were a couple of players who had a better fortnight than others.
So, with that, here are the winners and losers from the Celtic players who were on international duty.

Celtic’s winners from the international break
Kieran Tierney – Scotland
We can’t begin this without mentioning Kieran Tierney.
Not only was he a part of the first Scotland squad to qualify for a World Cup since 1990, he played a crucial part in getting Steve Clarke’s side over the line.
Tierney was brought on late in the second half against Denmark and crashed home a late winner past teammate Kasper Schmeichel to lift the roof off Hampden Park.
It may well go down as the full-back’s most important goal in his career, unless he conjures up some more magic for Celtic.
Liam Scales – Republic of Ireland
The narrative around Liam Scales has changed this season since evolving into one of the most important players in the Celtic squad.
Scales has been a mainstay in the centre-back position and has forced his way into Ireland’s starting XI.
In addition to keeping a clean sheet against Portugal, he was also on hand to provide the assist for Troy Parrott’s stoppage time goal that ensured that Ireland would be in the World Cup play-offs.
Without the Hoops defender, things could have been oh so different.

Colby Donovan – Scotland U21s
This year has been a breakout season for Colby Donovan, but the international break has given him his biggest setback so far.
Donovan returned from international duty early due to an ankle injury picked up in Scotland U21s win against Gibraltar U21s.
Scot Gemmill hinted that it wasn’t good news for the right-back, who may face a spell on the sidelines and leave Celtic with Anthony Ralston as their only established option in the position.
