Celtic have finally got their transfer business underway for the summer.

The first signing is a real statement of intent. Christopher Jullien has joined from Toulouse for a fee of £7 million, and he looks set to be a mainstay at the heart of the Hoops defence.

Recent arrival should just be the first of many

That is a good start to the transfer window by the Hoops, probably better than most fans expected. The good start has continued with the signing of Luca Connell from Bolton. That should just be the beginning of the transfer business though.

What must be next on the agenda for the Hoops is buying a left-back and a right-back. The right-back position is probably the one that needs to be addressed most urgently.

Club must look to replace club legend

The reason for that – the departure of Mikael Lustig. It might be difficult to find a player of similar stature to bring to the club but it is vital that the Hoops address the position as soon as possible.

The need for a left-back isn’t as strong whilst Kieran Tierney remains at the club – should he leave though then it is imperative that another left-back signs.

It is has been a good start to the transfer window for the Hoops. They have showed that they are willing to spend big if the right player comes along. Now is not the time to rest on laurels though. More new signings must be added to the squad as soon as possible.
