The transfer window is always an exciting and busy time for Celtic supporters.

During the summer, in particular, there are always a whole load of players linked with a move to Parkhead.

The latest to reportedly be taking the Hoops’ interest is young PSG midfielder Edouard Michut.

Whilst fans were very excited to see these links, some did have their doubts over whether Ange Postecoglou’s side could get a move over the line.

Of course, we have seen previous dealings between Celtic and PSG in the past, when Odsonne Edouard made the move to Scotland.

But, it is fair to say that the striker’s move seemed more realistic as the former Toulouse loanee was nowhere near the first-team picture at the French giants.

It appears to be the opposite of that for Michut, who has already made eight appearances for the club after coming through the academy as a youngster.

When you consider the fact that Spanish side Sevilla were also interested in a move for the midfielder, on paper, it could have been an almost impossible deal to get over the line.

However, with Michut’s current circumstances at PSG, it looks like there is a chance that a move to Celtic is on the cards.

After not being named in the club’s pre-season squad, the French under-19 internationalist was due to meet with sporting director Luis Campos last Wednesday in order to discuss his future with the club.

However, according to Le Parisien, Michut did not turn up to the meeting due to his frustration at not being selected.

Instead, the meeting took place the following day and only lasted a matter of minutes before he was handed a warning for his behaviour.

Previous reports have also stated that the midfielder is unhappy with his game time in Paris, and his preferred option is to depart the Parc des Princes (L’Equipe).

With Celtic now reportedly at the advanced stages of negotiation, it definitely seems like there is a real possibility of a deal taking place

Michut would become Postecoglou’s fifth signing of the window and another exciting addition to the squad.

We will have to wait and see how this one plays out in the coming days and weeks. But, there are reasons to feel positive about this potential move.
