Will it be a case of transfer deja vu after Brown lauds Celtic midfield target?

There seems to be an interesting parallel between comments made by Celtic skipper Scott Brown recently, and comments made one year ago.

Brown recently lauded Celtic transfer target David Turnbull, claiming that he would make a good addition to the Hoops squad.

Praised player last season

Interestingly, last summer he did the same thing when the Hoops were trying to sign John McGinn. He praised the player heavily.

Of course, McGinn ended up not joining Celtic, moving to Aston Villa. Could it be a case of deja vu with the Turnbull deal?

Could Brown have lauded a player Celtic want to sign, only for him to join another team, for the second year running?

May be different this time

Perhaps it might be different on this occasion. The Scottish Sun is reporting that Turnbull could be set to finally sign for Celtic after the deal looked set to be over at one stage.

Brown will be delighted by the news, judging from his comments on the player. Of course, anything can happen in a transfer deal.

Until the player is paraded at Celtic Park, there is no guarantee that the player will be moving to Celtic. Transfers can change in an instant. All at Celtic will be hoping that the deal is completed sooner rather than later though.

That includes Brown, who will be able to mentor the player in the middle of the park should he join the Hoops.
