Neil Lennon may be contemplating starting Christopher Jullien against Cluj on Wednesday night.

The Frenchman has only played one competitive match for Celtic so far, but he strolled the game against Nomme Kalju last week. And now Lennon has a big decision to make about who will partner Kristoffer Ajer.

Presuming everyone is fit, the rest of the Hoops team should pretty much pick itself. Scott Bain will play in nets despite what Csaba Laszlo has had to say. Hatem Abd Elhamed will play right-back with Boli Bolingoli Mbombo on the left.

Callum McGregor and Scott Brown will play in midfield with Ryan Christie in front of them. Finally, it should be James Forrest on the right, Mikey Johnston on the left and Odsonne Edouard up front.

Jullien is the only real dilemma for Lennon

It’s been a long time since the Celtic team has picked itself so easily. However, that’s not down to a lack of options in reserve. The likes of Marian Shved, Olivier Ntcham and Leigh Griffiths have all made impressions from the bench in recent weeks. It’s really exciting stuff.

But the Jullien debate in an intriguing one. Like Jozo Simunovic, he sat out the weekend win over St. Johnstone due to a suspension. That means that he’ll be fresh for Romania but also that he’s perhaps still a little raw.

The 26-year-old looked good on his first outing though, and Celtic fans will want to see more of what he can offer.
