The Brendan Rodgers era at Celtic has come to an end, and it probably will never resume again after his two spells in charge.

Celtic fans dream of Ange Postecoglou returning one day, but that won’t happen in the near future, as the Treble hero recovers from two sackings within the space of a few months in the English Premier League.

But when everyone reflects on the Rodgers era, as well as what Postecoglou produced during his three years in Glasgow.

Which Celtic team is harder to face – Brendan Rodgers or Ange Postecoglou?

Halliday faced Rodgers, in his first spell, when he was at Rangers, as well as coming up against Postecoglou in the colours of Hearts and Motherwell.

When Rodgers left Celtic last Monday evening, Halliday was asked how the Irishman compared to the Greek-born Australian.

And the 34-year-old didn’t hesitate in stating that coming up against a Postecoglou team was ‘a lot harder, as he explained why.

Halliday: “He (Rodgers) has always been, for me, a shrewd operator. I think he is very meticulous in what he says in the press. I always felt that whenever I heard Brendan speak, that’s pre-planned.”

Si Ferry: “Do you think his football is good? You have played against an Ange team and a Brendan Rodgers team. How does it compare?”

Halliday: “Ange was definitely a lot harder, especially for me as a midfielder, and how much they overload the middle of the pitch. There was a lot more intent and tempo.

“I think Brendan Rodgers’ style, when it’s good, is really good. But I don’t think it’s been good for a long period of time. You go from this season and chunks of last season as well.

“But again, I couldn’t say it was a failure his second spell, with how much they won.”

Rodgers vs Postecoglou records at Celtic compared

There is no doubt that Rodgers’ first spell in charge was far better than his second, even though they both ended in the same manner.

But it can’t be argued that Ange faced a far tougher Rangers because they had just won the title under Steven Gerrard, and Celtic themselves were in a mess.

Either way, this is how their records matched up:
