Celtic made history back in 1895 by recording their biggest league victory.
As one of the world’s most successful clubs, Celtic have a rich history and achieved a number of landmarks.
On 26 October, 1895, Celtic hammered Dundee in surprising fashion in front of a crowd of 10,000 at Parkhead, and that scoreline still hasn’t been bettered to this day.

Celtic beat Dundee 11-0 in 1895
This game was billed as being a close encounter but in reality, it was very one-sided.
Dundee had to play the second half of the game with nine men after they suffered injuries to three of their players.
Even with a full team on the pitch, the Hoops were no match as they raced into a 5-0 lead.
Once Dundee began to lose players to injury, the heavens really opened and the Bhoys continued to pile on the agony.
A surprising takeaway from Celtic’s dominant win was that the club’s top goal scorer for that season, Allan Martin, didn’t even get on the scoresheet.
Martin bagged 18 goals that campaign but instead it was James Blessington who stood out, scoring twice.
Johnny Madden and Sandy McMahon also scored braces while Willie Maley, Peter Meehan, Barney Battles, William Ferguson and Daniel Doyle completed the rout.
Celtic went on to win the Division One title
That win against Dundee would be the catalyst for Celtic to go on and enjoy a very successful season.
The Hoops only lost three games all season and beat Rangers to the title by four points.
Only one of those defeats came at Celtic Park, where they scored 39 times and conceded nine.
Those 11 goals against Dundee helped provide a lot of the lifting for those stats, but it was a great season all round.
