Celtic can look back to their friendly against Wolves in 1959 as a poignant moment in the club’s history.
Parkhead has been the Hoops’ home since 1892 and has seen many changes.
During that time, countless Scottish Premiership titles have been won and players like Henrik Larsson and more have graced the turf.
There have also been many famous nights under the lights – most notably the 2-1 win against Barcelona in the Champions League.
However, 1959 will be the year that the club played one of the most important games in its history.

Celtic played under floodlights for the first time against Wolves
A friendly against Wolves may not seem that exciting on paper, but it signified a big moment for the Hoops.
Following the installation of floodlights in the ground, the Bhoys played against the English side under the lights for the first time.
Sadly, a win couldn’t accompany the big moment as Wolves were 2-0 winners, with the back-to-back English champions featuring talents like Billy Wright.
Two Lisbon Lions featured for Celtic against Wolves in 1959
As it was a friendly, Celtic weren’t at full strength and gave two future legends of the club a chance to play.
Stevie Chalmers and Bertie Auld, who are both glorified Celtic legends and played a huge role as part of the Lisbon Lions in the 1967 European Cup final win.
Chalmers and Auld were in the early stages of their career at the time and it set them up for future success.
