Celtic are showing interest in Maribor striker Zan Vipotnik ahead of the summer transfer window, his agent claimed on Monday.
The Bhoys are expected to be busy in the upcoming market, especially if some big offers come in for any of our established players. Ange Postecoglou and his recruitment staff will be linked with many players over the coming months.
Football Scotland have now carried quotes from a representative of Vipotnik, who said: “Yes, there is interest from Celtic for a summer transfer but there a lot of clubs who want to sign Zan when the window opens.”

Celtic take note of Zan Vipotnik’s breakthrough season
The same outlet reports that Vipotnik would be available for a fee of around £3.5m, well within the champions’ spending power. It’s stressed that Celtic’s interest is at a preliminary stage and that no official bid has been made. His contract runs until the summer of 2026.
This is a breakthrough season for the 21-year-old at Maribor, where he’s scored 23 goals from 38 appearances in all competitions.
His form has earned him international inclusion too. He played twice for Slovenia in March qualifying matches, even scoring a winning effort off the bench against Kazakhstan on his debut.

Celtic currently have Kyogo Furuhashi and Hyeongyu Oh available in the central striker position, although having a viable third option would be nice. The early part of the season is guaranteed to throw up a busy schedule.
Vipotnik is unlikely to be the last striker connected to Celtic and the club have shown they aren’t afraid to shop in lesser-known markets in recent years.
