Agent Dudu Dahan has issued a statement on the situation of Celtic defender Hatem Abd Elhamed on Facebook this evening.
Elhamed has been consistently linked with a move back to Israel for family reasons over the last month.
However, Dahan is insistent that the versatile defender wants to fight for his place at Celtic.
Posting on Facebook via the Scoutpush page, the agent said: “Recently a lot of debunked and wrong news has been published about the Israel and Celtic player Hatem Elhamed.
“The only right thing is that Hatem is proud to belong to a club the size of Celtic.
“After everything he’s been through in his career Hatem is not one to give up so fast. He is more determined than ever to do everything to fight for his place in the wonderful team and club squad.”
Elhamed’s Celtic status
It was reported by The Daily Record yesterday that Celtic had received an offer for the player from his former club Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
The Scottish Sun previously reported that he was eager to return to his homeland, having grown disillusioned with life in Scotland amid the pandemic.
Whether Dahan uses this statement as a negotiating tactic or simply wants to relay Elhamed’s desire to stay is unknown.
Taking him at his word, the Israeli international may be around at Celtic for a while yet.

However, the defender has a bit of work to do to make it back into Neil Lennon’s plans.
Since the 4-2 defeat to AC Milan, he hasn’t been seen in the team and hasn’t been in a match squad since the draw against St Johnstone.
The next month will be a very interesting one with regards to his future.
