Andy Halliday believes there is one player in the Hearts team that would be the perfect fit for Celtic.
Hearts have been Celtic’s main threat to defending their league title, with the Jambos seemingly not going away.
Derek McInnes’ side beat Rangers at the weekend to maintain their six-point gap and ensure they would be top on Christmas Day.
Celtic, meanwhile have been adjusting under Wilfried Nancy and evidently need new bodies in to help in the title fight.
Many clubs will be looking at Hearts’ top talents, and Halliday thinks there is one that is well-suited to playing for the Hoops.

You have one Celtic wish that can be granted in 2026. What would it be and why?
Andy Haliday thinks Cammy Devlin would be perfect for Celtic
Lawrence Shankland and Claudio Braga have both been the headline makers for Hearts, but Cammy Devlin has been just as impressive.
Usually known for his defensive play, the midfielder has shown this year that he can get his foot on the ball and encourage plenty of possession.
A ball-winning midfielder comfortable with playing in a progressive team is exactly what Celtic lack alongside Callum McGregor, and Halliday reckons this makes him a solid option to consider.

“I think Celtic need a Cammy Devlin more than Rangers do,” he said on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard
“I just think with this shape that Wilfried Nancy is taking with Celtic, the 3-4-3 and the two in the midfield, I think Celtic need more legs next to Callum McGregor.
“I still think over the five games they look a little bit wide open at times, I think they look susceptible to counter-attacks, whereas I think Rangers need for a midfielder is more someone that can get on the ball and progress the game up the pitch and create chances.
“So I actually think the profile of a player like Cammy Devlin is, I think, more suited to what Celtic need than Rangers.”
Celtic could poach Cammy Devlin for nothing
If Devlin did become a serious option for the Hoops, there would be a great chance to take him from right under Hearts’ noses.
The Australian’s contract expires at the end of this season, meaning that he will be able to negotiate with clubs from 1 January.
What is the one player you wish that Celtic had signed?
That gives the Bhoys the chance to swoop in for the 27-year-old and arrange a deal that would see him officially join next season, or even offer money now in the hope that he chooses to swap Edinburgh for Glasgow.
