Ange Postecoglou is in the market for “two or three” more Celtic signings this summer and sounds confident the club will deliver.
Postecoglou has already added Ben Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei to his squad, with last year’s loanees Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota also committing their futures to the club.
The running total in terms of spend goes well beyond £15m, but the Celtic boss is looking for more reinforcements.

Speaking to Sky Sports this afternoon, he said: “We’re still looking to bring in two or three players. There’s still a couple of areas where we need to strengthen up and we’ll do that.
“The challenge is to improve irrespective of what happened last year. If we didn’t win the title, we’d be looking to improve to try and win it. If we do improve then it gives us a chance to be successful. That’s what I’ve said to the players from day one this year. It’s not about repeating last year’s success, this is about being a better version of ourselves this season on all fronts.
“We strengthened during last season whereas this year we’re a lot more settled. It gives a chance to work on our game and get the players a better understanding of that.”
It’s been common knowledge all summer that Celtic are looking to recruit a mobile, robust midfielder that can add to the manager’s options.
The Vinicius Souza interest looks to have ended, so we await news of other targets emerging over the coming days and weeks.
With a defender and striker thought to be on the wishlist too, it’s easy to see where Postecoglou’s target of two or three more comes from.
As ever though, that could depend on Christopher Jullien and Albian Ajeti moving on, both of whom are earning significant first-team wages.
