The transfer to take Hatem Abd Elhamed from Hapoel Be’er Sheva to Celtic is practically completed. That is according to Be’er Sheva owner Alona Barkat.
The Scottish Sun reports that Barkat is ‘honoured’ that the player is set to move to Glasgow.
“We are honoured and proud”

“I am the owner of a proud club that our player is going to play in a great team like Celtic. We are honoured and wish that all of our players fulfil their dreams” she said.
El Hamed is set to be the fourth Hoops signing of the summer. He might not be as high profile as the likes of Christopher Jullien, but he could be just as important.
As the player can play at both centre-back and right-back, it will be interesting to see if he becomes the Hoops’ new right-back, in the short term at least.
Current right-back situation is untenable

Recently Celtic have been playing Kristoffer Ajer at right-back – that is a situation that cannot last.
The Hoops will be looking to the deal completed before the Champions League clash against Nomme Kalju. The player can be registered as a ‘wild card’ for the game, if the deal is done in time.
Therefore, it would not be a shock to see Elhamed make his debut for the Hoops in a massive Champions League qualifier.
That will be a gamble, but it could be one that is worth taking.
