Benjamin Nygren has addressed rumours that English Premier League clubs want the Celtic midfielder and the Swede replied to those with class.

The Hoops midfielder has been in brilliant form this season as Nygren’s Celtic goals keep the SPFL title defence on track.

With 19 goals in 48 games for Celtic, the Swedish international is rumoured to be on some English clubs’ transfer list but Nygren has replied to that and said ‘the speculation is just fun’.

Celtic are better when Benjamin Nygren plays 🤨

Should Martin O'Neill be focusing the team around him so that he scores even more goals?

Benjamin Nygren admits he ‘really enjoys Celtic’ but wants move to ‘biggest leagues’

It sounds worse than it is but as Nygren was speaking on the mounting speculation, the Celtic midfielder kept it classy but didn’t pull any punches regarding his ambition.

Nygren told The Sunday Post, “The speculation is really just fun and a sign that you’ve done something good.

“I’m always humble, I’m always working hard to get better every day and I really enjoy Celtic.

“But, like every other footballer, I have a dream to get as far as possible with my football and play in the biggest leagues.”

Benjamin Nygren’s breakout Celtic season

Nygren has been nothing short of a revelation since arriving from Nordsjælland. In a season that’s had its fair share of ups and downs, his 19-goal haul has kept Celtic competing for trophies this season.

Here is a breakdown of all the Celtic midfielder’s goals and assists:

Naturally, the English Premier League clubs are sniffing around, but the man himself has finally addressed the chatter.

Nygren’s weekly tradition of scoring for Celtic means the vultures from down south are starting to circle, but with a contract until 2029, the Bhoys hold all the cards.

We’ve seen this movie before at Parkhead, and while Nygren is happy at Celtic, that doesn’t make the latest noise surrounding our Swedish sensation any easier to stomach for the Hoops support.
