Celtic fans were left overjoyed with the official announcement of Shane Duffy as Neil Lennon’s latest summer signing.
After a protracted transfer saga over a number of weeks, the Scottish champions finally landed their man on a season-long loan deal after Brighton gave the green light to favourable terms.
The Scottish Sun have reported that Celtic are paying just £25,000 of his £45,000-a-week wages, with the Premier League club giving up the chance to cash in on a £10m transfer.

Duffy adds immediate presence to the dressing room at Celtic, having grown up a diehard fan.
Supporters always love seeing ‘one of their own’ turning out for the club and as a Derry man who made trips to Glasgow as a boy to watch Celtic in action, Duffy is certainly that.
With extensive experience of playing at the top level too, he will surely go right into Neil Lennon’s starting eleven following the international break, if fit enough.
Following the signings of Mohamed Elyounoussi, Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti and David Turnbull, there’s no doubt that the club are serious about adding starting quality to the manager’s squad.

He now has to find his best team and the best system for them in the coming weeks and months.
We have the personnel to dominate the competition in Scotland. There can be no excuses.
