Arsenal supporters appear to be anxious about Leicester’s reported pursuit of Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Daily Record reported on Thursday that it’s the Foxes who lead the race to sign the Frenchman, reuniting him with former boss Brendan Rodgers.

However, the Gunners as well as Newcastle and Aston Villa are all keen on the striker too.

It’s a fortuitous situation for Celtic, who will likely be looking to sell given he has just a year left on his current deal.

Record-breaking fees are probably unlikely, but any bidding war could push his price up to the £20m mark despite that contract situation.

His form for the French U21 national team has also been incredible and he’s well placed to make a big impact in the U21 Euros later this summer.

Arsenal of course have precedent for shopping at Celtic having signed Kieran Tierney in 2019. He’s gone on to become a real fan favourite at the Emirates, which may be driving this online hype surrounding Edouard too.

In truth, £20m isn’t much of a dent in the budget of English clubs, so anyone biting on his potential this summer could be landing a real bargain.

Hopefully it all works out with a best-case scenario for Celtic.
