Brendan Rodgers is a frustrated man.
It’s clear that the Northern Irishman wants a few more new signings through the door at Celtic Park, particularly in the attacking areas.
But progress on that front is stalling and there’s now just one month to go until the close of the summer transfer window.
Celtic haven’t spent a lot of money yet, and fans are concerned about the lack of activity and spending as the clock ticks down towards deadline day.
However, a new signing has effectively been confirmed by Rodgers on Friday afternoon.

Jahmai Simpson-Pusey loan confirmed by Rodgers
Yes, the man in question is Jahmai Simpson-Pusey. Rodgers says Celtic have signed the young central defender on loan for the 2025/26 season.
Pusey should be confirmed either today or on Saturday ahead of Celtic’s first Scottish Premiership game of the season against St Mirren on Sunday.
Rodgers has now outlined what Pusey will offer the Hoops over the next 10 months. The boss said: “He’s a very gifted young player.
“He has come through the system at Manchester City, his profile fits very much what we want from our centre halves.
“He’s quick, he’s dominant, he’s a good defender, and of course, at Celtic your centre-backs need to be able to progress the ball and that’s a big strength of his.
“We’ve taken him on loan for a year. We always need all our centre-backs at Celtic. You play so many games, so many intense games and he will join our squad.
“He is obviously a little bit behind because he hasn’t played so many games over the course of pre-season but we have brought him through for the rest of the season and hopefully we can close that one out today.”
Pep Guardiola praised ‘unbelievable’ Simpson-Pusey
When Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola declares he is a fan of you, it means you are a seriously talented footballer.
The Spaniard was effusive in his praise of Simpson-Pusey last season when the youngster made a start for City against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Guardiola stated: “The guy [Simpson-Pusey] played really good. With this composure and duels and everything was good.

“It’s not easy for him. Normally the young lads must come in with support from the team… now he’s playing in a position that is difficult for him but he performed unbelievable.
“We have a central defender to help us for the future, for the next years. I’m really pleased.”
