Celtic prospect Rocco Vata looks destined for a permanent exit from the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph reports that the young winger is now weighing up his options, with first-team involvement now not on the cards after a decision made by Brendan Rodgers.
Other young talents have signed new contracts and headed out on loan during this window, but it’s said neither of these are options for Vata with a permanent departure increasingly likely.
Vata was given exposure to senior football at the Bhoys under the former manager and Rodgers included him on pre-season trips to Portugal and Japan. However, it seems his chances of a sustained run in the first team are over.
Vata has long been a hyped talent at Celtic and has undoubtedly caught the eye of supporters in his fleeting appearances for the club to date. This will not be a popular decision with every fan, that’s for sure, there are many who feel he holds significant potential.
However, it seems there has been a divergence of opinion within Celtic on Vata’s future and he is well within his rights to seek senior football elsewhere rather than continue within the B team set-up.

MORE CELTIC STORIES
There’s a possibility we hear more on this from Rodgers in media conferences over the weekend, but it’s impossible to know exactly what’s gone on here or the factors at play.
It’ll be disappointing to say goodbye to one of the top talents coming through the Academy, but ultimately we have to trust the decisions of the manager right now after a long summer of assessment.
I’m sure a fuller story will come out in time.
