Brutal Chris Jullien update leaves Celtic scrambling for transfer options

Neil Lennon’s injury update that Christopher Jullien would be missing from Celtic action for as many as four months was a major blow.

When the defender went down on Wednesday night and required a stretcher off the field, the gut feeling was his absence wouldn’t be quick.

Jullien’s return to the team recently was much-welcomed. The Frenchman seemed to bring a bit more stability to a backline that has struggled for large chunks of the season.

It leaves Celtic in serious need of transfer reinforcement this month.

It’s never easy to recruit mid-season, especially when trying to find a player of quality. Our best signings over the signings have often arrived in the summer months.

However, the club need to pull out all the stops and deliver.

Who could lead the way for Celtic?

There’s zero faith in the Shane Duffy signing turning out to be a good one. His performance as a substitute at Ibrox was just as troubling as ever.

We’ve been linked with several defenders in recent months, from Philadelphia Union’s Mark McKenzie to Preston North End’s Ben Davies.

However, that duo are thought to be in high demand, complicating the situation for Celtic further.

Fans have been clear though; they want to see a top defender arrive at the club this month, genuine title race or not.
