Celtic’s Maik Nawrocki is attracting interest from Bundesliga clubs while on loan at Hannover 96.
The defender was injured in their 2-0 win over Darmstadt at the weekend, in a blow to their squad as they look to mount their own bid for promotion to the top-flight.
He is one of a number of players enjoying loan spells away from Glasgow currently. Born and raised in Germany, Nawrocki is closer to his family in Hannover.
And by the looks of things, he could be staying in Germany beyond this season, with his Celtic future in major doubt.

According to Bild in Germany, “several” Bundesliga clubs have Nawrocki “on their radar” after his performances this season.
Whilst Hannover hold an option to buy him for around £2 million, the report says that they would possibly struggle to convince Nawrocki if they don’t secure promotion this season.

They currently sit third in the 2. Bundesliga table in a tight race for a top-three finish. A top-two finish guarantees promotion, whilst third secures a play-off against the third-bottom team in the top-flight.
They average the highest possession in the division under boss Christian Titz, clearly suiting a two-footed, ball-playing defender like Nawrocki.
Should he make his move to the Saxony club permanent, the £2 million fee would mark a notable loss on the £4.3 million paid to bring him to Glasgow from Legia Warsaw in 2023.
Despite the fee, Brendan Rodgers used him sparingly over two seasons. There were issues with injuries, but for the most part, the defender was available to the Irishman.
Liam Scales, Stephen Welsh and Nat Phillips were used more than the Poland international. Gustaf Lagerbielke, signed in the same season in the same position, faced a similar fate.
Lagerbielke had his own successful loan away from Glasgow last season at FC Twente in the Netherlands. This earned him a permanent move to Braga, where he is now attracting interest from the Premier League.

Nawrocki’s fortunes in the German second tier have certainly been better than those of fellow Rodgers outcast Shin Yamada, who seems completely frozen out at relegation-threatened Prussia Munster.
The other of Celtic’s two J League signings from last summer, Hayato Inamura, is back playing regular football at FC Tokyo.
