Celtic want to sign defender Gustaf Lagerbielke and Carl Starfelt’s agent has had a part to play, according to a report.
On Monday evening, Swedish outlet Expressen reported that the Hoops have bid for the IF Elfsborg defender who has been a break-out star in the Allsvenskan this season.
Elfsborg are currently top of the table after 18 matches, with Lagerbielke also making his Sweden debut in January.
The report says our bid is around 40m Swedish Korna which equates to just shy of £3m.
They say he is intended as a replacement for Starfelt who is likely to be announced as a Celta Vigo player in the coming days.
Interestingly enough, the report also says that Starfelt’s agent Blash Hosseini had appeared at Elfsborg’s Borås Arena after their 1-0 win over Sirius on Sunday.

“Several sources state that the reason for the visit was to try to stitch together the Lagerbielke deal to Celtic,” reads the report.
It does not explain if Hosseini is also Lagerbielke’s agent. Online searches are also unable to provide an answer on that. But it is interesting that Starfelt’s agent would be involved in another Celtic move.

It does seem very much like Lagerbielke will be the Starfelt replacement we’re after. Expressen have been pretty spot-on with their Celtic reports in recent times, including the signing of Starfelt two years ago.
Lagerbielke is 23-years-old, and 6ft 4in (Transfer Markt). Let’s hope we can get the deal concluded soon and then add some attacking firepower.
