Celtic are amongst a host of clubs interested in signing Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu, according to a report.

West London Sport is reporting that QPR are interested in the player, as well as the Hoops, who are ‘showing an interest’ in the attacker.

The report goes on to claim that the Championship trio of Wigan, Bristol City and Derby County have all scouted the player.

There will no doubt be plenty of players linked with Celtic between now and the end of the transfer window in January. Ikpeazu would certainly be an interesting signing, should he join the Hoops.

Not a prolific striker

Postecoglou hints at big week of Celtic announcements

He has never been a prolific striker. Last season he only scored eight goals. However, his all round game caused teams plenty of problems.

This season he has had to deal with injuries, but the player, who is 24, came back in style with a goal to help Hearts defeat Edinburgh rivals Hibs 2-1.

Different type of player to those currently at club

Ikpeazu is a different type of striker to any that Celtic currently have on their books. He does a lot of good work outside the box. The player is almost more of a second striker, than a main attacker.

Only time will tell if the player ends up at Celtic Park or not. However, it is a promising sign that the Hoops are already looking for reinforcements in January. That could be an indication that the Hoops are set to make a few signings in the next transfer window. Hopefully they will aid the quest for nine in a row.
