Celtic target Josip Juranovic will get to say goodbye to his teammates and supporters tonight, with Legia Warsaw playing Slavia Prague in the Europa League.

Recently as yesterday, Legia boss Czesław Michniewicz had all but confirmed the Croatia international was signing for Celtic. He even intimated that his teammates were congratulating him on his move.

On Tuesday, Celtic and Legia agreed a fee [Sun]. The Croat is expected to undergo a medical tomorrow in Glasgow. If that’s the case, it seems a significant risk to have him playing the night before a potential move.

Yet, as UEFA confirm, he’s in the starting line-up to face Slavia [UEFA]. Playing on the right of a compact back 5, Juranovic could help his current team in the Europa League play-offs.

Artur Boruc, a fan-favourite in the Hoops, starts and captains the side.

This follows a strange sort of trend for Celtic this summer. Our manager, Ange Postecoglou, was given the chance to manage Yokohama F Marinos one last time before moving to Glasgow. Kyogo Furuhashi played a final game for Vissel Kobe, getting on the scoresheet.

Whether Juranovic can make a winning impact for Legia is yet to be seen. His current side kick-off at 6pm BST.

Juranovic playing with fire ahead of Celtic move, but Legia Warsaw won’t care

To be honest, Legia Warsaw won’t be worried about how we feel. No, they won’t want a move to collapse, but it’s their prerogative to play him until he’s no longer their player.

That stands to reason.

However, it’ll be a long evening for the Celtic hierarchy, hoping he avoids any robust challenges. Despite the form of Anthony Ralston, the Bhoys have had struggles trying to pin down a new right-back. An injury to Juranovic for Legia Warsaw tonight would be a disaster.

Especially with other targets like Aurelio Buta and Yan Couto opting not to move to Paradise.

Here’s hoping Juranovic can stay fit!
