Celtic have been linked with many players this summer. One of the players was Brentford left-back Rico Henry. The Scottish Sun reported that the Hoops were going to move for the player should Kieran Tierney move to Arsenal.
The report went on to claim that the Championship side were looking for a fee of £7 million for the player. As everyone knows, Tierney has now joined Arsenal.
Player agrees new long-term deal
However, it is highly unlikely that Henry will be making the move to Celtic. The player has signed a new four-year contract with Brentford.
The chances of the Hoops paying £7 million for the player looked to be remote in the first place. Now the chances of Celtic moving for the player are all but gone.
Celtic moving on to other targets
That does not mean that Celtic are going to stop looking for full-backs to sign. The Daily Record reported that the Hoops have enquired about signing Kilmarnock’s Greg Taylor. The price being quoted by the Rugby Park is £3 million.
That is probably a more agreeable fee than the £7 million that Brentford were reportedly wanting for Taylor.
It remains to be seen if Celtic will make any more signings before the end of the transfer window. The chances are that the Hoops will add at least one or two more players.
However, it does not like Rico Henry will be joining the Hoops.
