We know Celtic defender Christopher Jullien loves a cryptic Instagram post – he’s had plenty of them during his time at the Bhoys.
Tonight’s may well be the most significant however after he posted a photo to his Stories feed from an unknown flight to an unknown destination for unknown reasons.
Is the French defender off to pastures new this summer and is it happening imminently?
For what it’s worth, he’s since deleted the post after it spread quickly on social media.
This wouldn’t be news if he was simply returning to the Bhoys after the summer holidays. However, he was spotted in pre-season training on Monday so has been at Lennoxtown with Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
Jetting off from that would be odd unless something is afoot.
Other explanations could exist of course such as a personal trip or an injury check-up on his long-term knee issue that was ostensibly resolved in January.
It doesn’t confirm he is leaving Celtic – that’s important to stress.
However, it wouldn’t be a surprise either given he has never really been part of the manager’s plans and made it clear towards the end of last season he wants to play somewhere regularly.
He said: “I would like to come back into the team this year but the playing time is not there at all.
“I still have one year left on my contract here, and I would like to continue playing, but my priority is to be on the pitch.”
The defender has had his ups and downs here but he did win trophies and would go with the best wishes of every Celtic supporter.
Presumably, there will be more on this over the coming days. We’ll probably know quite quickly whether this is a transfer development or something else.
It certainly has supporters talking tonight!
