Celtic supporters are excited about the imminent arrival of AC Milan left-back Diego Laxalt.
Sky Sports report that the Uruguayan international is undergoing a medical in London and is expected in Glasgow later tonight.
He is expected to join on a season-long loan, though Celtic are still negotiating a potential option to buy in the deal.

Laxalt will arrive after a long spell in Italy playing for Milan, Bologna and Torino amongst others. He’s made 170 Serie A appearances in total.

Now 27, he’s also had regular periods as a starter for Uruguay, featuring heavily during their impressive run to the World Cup quarter-finals two years ago.
That all suggests he’ll be a significant upgrade on Greg Taylor and have the opportunity to make the left wing-back position his own.

This is the standard of signing we’ve come to expect throughout this transfer window but supporters are still surprised we are bringing in a player of his profile on deadline day.

Love that, the lads a talent.
Pace, technically really comfortable and loves to bomb on, cracking signing. https://t.co/FIE7OOroyb— Liam Wotherspoon (@Spoony96) October 5, 2020
This would be a fantastic signing for Celtic. Laxalt excelled for Uruguay at the World Cup in 2018 starting their two knockout games and one group stage game as well as coming off the bench in the other. He was injured for the first game
He chipped in with two assists too https://t.co/QzFhJp5rqz

What a signing Laxalt is if it’s true. That’s the kind of left back we should be signing. Not sure how Peter Lawwell has managed to pull it off. Crucial we keep a hold of Edouard and Ajer now and hopefully a right winger in the door as well. 🍀💚
