Some Celtic supporters have been encouraged by reports that the club have enquired with Wolves about the availability of Daniel Podence this summer.
The Mirror reported this weekend that the Scottish champions top a list of clubs eager to take him on loan for the 2020/21 campaign and have made contact with the Premier League side.
Podence only arrived at Wolves in January, for a reported £17m, but has so far failed to fully cement himself in the plans of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Prior to his switch to England he was a regular with Olympiacos in Greece, playing in every match of their Champions League campaign and earning a call-up to the Portuguese national team.
The winger, who can play on both flanks, started on the left-hand side for Wolves today in their 3-0 league win over Everton.
He was impressive during his time on the pitch, completing four of his five attempted dribbles, getting two shots on target and creating a chance with a key pass (WhoScored).
If he maintains form like that then a move away might be unlikely, though Celtic have completed similarly ambitious loan moves for Mohamed Elyounoussi and Fraser Forster over the last 12 months.

As the club push for quality players to boost our chances of a historic tenth title in a row, nothing can be ruled out.
Fans have taken to social media this weekend to share their thoughts on the report, with these supporters clearly eager to see a deal done…
He’s a cracking player from the 3 games I’ve seen him in, Gary Neville called it himself, He is a similar player to Eden Hazard (in terms of playstyle)

i’d be happy bringing him in on loan, can play both wings n everyone thinks we’ve got too many wingers when in reality we still don’t have enough there’s only forrest on the right and mo on the left and mikey sometimes playing left wing

Would 100% take him look great at Olympiacos but we don’t need another winger with moi signing

This would be good business. Alot like Elyounoussi, would be getting high standard player that cost close to 20 millions that hasn’t had a chance in the Prem.

Having just seen him play, I can’t see wolves entertaining that. He was class.
