There is another name to add to the list of right-backs that Celtic are reportedly interested in. The Sun is reporting that the Hoops have made enquiries about signing Luton Town’s Jack Stacey.

The report goes on to claim that the player would cost £2 million, and that Stoke City are also interested in signing the player.

One year left on contract

Stacey has one year left on his contract, which means Luton may have to sell him if he does not sign a new deal.

Last season the player made 50 appearances for Luton as the Hatters won the League One title. It is no surprise to see Celtic linked with another right-back.

The club need to sign one urgently to replace Mikael Lustig. At the moment, the only right-back at the club is Anthony Ralston.

Need for right-back is vital

Therefore, with the Champions League qualifiers starting in just over a fortnight, Celtic would no doubt like to get another right-back into the squad.

Neil Lennon will be hoping to add some new additions to his Celtic squad whilst the Hoops are on their tour to Austria this week.

So far, Celtic have not made any signings this summer. Although it seems only a matter of time until a deal for David Turnbull is completed.

A right-back will be high on the agenda, perhaps Stacey will be the player that Celtic sign.
