Celtic are hoping to conclude multiple deals in the final week of the transfer window, according to a report.
The Hoops have under nine days left to add to their six signings so far this summer. The club have already spent significant money on the likes of Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke, but the general feeling is that more first-team ready recruits are needed.
It’s encouraging then to hear that the club are seemingly of the same mindset.
Already this morning we’ve brought you the latest from the Daily Mail’s Stephen McGowan. He has brought a new name — Luis Palma — in to focus while also suggesting that wages could be an obstacle in moves for Daniel Podence and Ryan Fraser.
The Daily Mail report also includes a short but important line about Brendan Rodgers‘ hopes for the final week of the market.
It says that the Celtic manager would like to add “three or four signings” before the proverbial slamming shut of the window. If that’s the case it will be a busy end to the summer.

No other information is offered but it is a reassuring sign that the club feel significant business is still required in order to have the squad ready for this season’s challenges.
Celtic have already signed six players permanently this summer as well as Tomoki Iwata’s mandatory transfer being completed. That’s a decent number of signings but many supporters would like to see more proven talent in the door.
The club still have to fill the giant void left by Jota. You would have to assume that a left-winger would be one of the players we are targeting before September 1.

Another midfielder may also be required with Aaron Mooy no longer around and Reo Hatate’s future not totally clear.
A centre-back may also be needed given our current injury crisis while goalkeeper, left-back and forward areas have also been spoken about in supporter circles.
The positive news is that Rodgers and Celtic feel work still needs to be done. Now it’s time for them to put their money where their mouth is.
