Celtic have joined the ever-increasing list of clubs interested in Motherwell’s Elliot Watt.
Watt was a mainstay as Jens Berthel Askou’s side established themselves as the unlikely best footballing team in the country.
He played every minute when fit, operating as a ‘number six’ at the base of the midfield in a role similar to that of Callum McGregor at Celtic.
Unsurprisingly given the standard of his performances, Watt is now the subject of summer interest.

According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic, Rangers and Cardiff City have all made enquiries about the midfielder.
Motherwell have reportedly set the bidding at £3 million.

The 26-year-old has flourished under the Dane, enjoying the best season of his career so far. He joins a long list of Motherwell players linked with Celtic.
Watt is, however, a boyhood Rangers fan, with fans recently digging up old tweets of him celebrating wins over Celtic. It didn’t stop Greg Taylor…
Tawanda Maswanhise, reportedly the subject of a visit from Martin O’Neill and Mark Fotheringham earlier this season, is of interest after finishing as the Scottish Premiership top scorer.
Elijah Just, nominated for the SPFA Player of the Year, is reportedly a very prominent target for Parkhead scouts after a stellar season at Fir Park.
Motherwell goalkeeper Calum Ward also has reported interest after excelling in a ball-playing sweeper keeper role.
Of course, With Askou’s move to Toulouse now confirmed, you wouldn’t be surprised to see the Dane throw his hat in the ring to bring some of his former players with him.
Given Watt’s importance to Motherwell this season, you wouldn’t be surprised to see him follow his ex-boss to the south of France.

Charlie Mulgrew has suggested Elliot Watt for Celtic
Speaking on The Breakdown show in March, Charlie Mulgrew said: “I see Watt, I think if, Berthel Askou got the Celtic job.
“I think he would probably go for him and Callum McGregor at the base. I think Just could definitely play as well.”
For a 26-year-old, Watt has already racked up the minutes of your average 30-year-old in his career, having been a regular in the English lower leagues as a teenager.
This was his debut season at Fir Park.
