Celtic keeping close watch on Elijah Just looks smarter by the week

Celtic reportedly sending a scout to watch Elijah Just at Falkirk over the weekend feels like smart recruitment work rather than transfer hype.

The Motherwell attacker has already shown he can produce consistently in Scottish football, and that matters when Celtic look for players capable of contributing quickly.

Celtic’s reported scouting trip says plenty

Celtic reportedly had a scout in attendance watching Just during Motherwell’s 1-0 defeat to Falkirk at the weekend.

That alone does not mean a transfer is imminent, but it does suggest the club continue to monitor the Fir Park star closely ahead of the summer window.

The key point here is that Celtic appear to be doing proper groundwork instead of reacting late once a player’s value rises further.

Elijah Just’s numbers justify serious attention

The Motherwell attacker has delivered some great performances this season as Jens Berthel Askou’s side continue to impress.

Just registered seven goals and seven assists during the Premiership campaign, numbers that immediately make him worth monitoring.

Those returns become even more impressive when viewed in the context of Motherwell’s season and the level of pressure Celtic attackers face every week in Scotland.

There is no adjustment guesswork involved here. Celtic already know he can handle the pace and physical demands of the league.

Celtic would be right to keep tracking Just

Whether Celtic eventually move for Just or not, continuing to scout him makes complete sense based on his stats and performances in the Scottish Premiership.

He has produced in the league, adapted quickly to Scottish football, and shown enough consistency to justify serious attention.

Celtic do not need every signing to be a gamble from overseas markets. Sometimes the sensible option is already performing well in front of them every week.
