Celtic talent Ben Summers has completed his loan to Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic tonight, just hours after extending his contract at the Bhoys.
Summers signed a new Celtic deal until the summer of 2026 earlier today before making the journey to Fife to be unveiled as James McPake’s latest summer signing.
Celtic have confirmed the loan is a season-long deal, meaning the young attacking midfielder will get plenty of time to break into McPake’s plans and make an impact in the second tier.
Dunfermline have a forward-looking vision at the moment and while there are a few contenders for promotion, the reality is that anyone can make a push in such a competitive division, even though the Pars have just come up from League One.
Summers is undoubtedly being earmarked for a strong Celtic future. He’s been consistently training with the first team for months, alongside making appearances for Celtic B in various competitions across the continent.
He’s highly regarded amongst the coaching staff and could even be the most viable candidate, at this stage, to make it in the senior set-up.

The 19-year-old was included in Brendan Rodgers’ squad for pre-season trips to Portugal and Japan, earning minutes in multiple friendly matches.
Now it’ll be about trying to string together consistent form and catching the eye of his new manager, Pars fans and the Celtic staff back at Lennoxtown.
Dunfermline play Dundee United this weekend and it’ll be interesting to see if Summers even makes it into the match squad for that one.
The very best of luck to him on his loan mission!
