Celtic aren’t content with only bringing Arne Engels and Auston Trusty to the club in the final hours of the summer transfer window.
Engels and Trusty are both said to have completed Celtic medicals ahead of transfer announcements later today with £11m and £6m fees agreed.
However, Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for more recruits and continues to target the central midfield position ahead of a busy season in four competitions.
Dundee star Luke McCowan remains an option but Celtic are now also in contact with English Premier League side West Ham about a late loan move.
Celtic interested in signing Andy Irving
Sky Sports reports that the Bhoys are exploring a deal for 24-year-old Scottish midfielder Andy Irving. However, the Hammers don’t want to lose him in the current window.
Irving, previously at Hearts, signed for West Ham last summer after shining for Austria Klagenfurt but was immediately loaned back to the club for the 2023/24 campaign.
Now it seems Julen Loptegui wants him as part of his plans for the coming campaign with the London club hesitant to sanction his exit.

Celtic could make move for Luke McCowan
Sky Sports also reports that McCowan is an active consideration for the Bhoys, who have a longstanding interest in the Dens Park standout.
It’s said that Celtic could now make their move for him before 11pm deadline after Rodgers was left impressed with his Scottish Premiership form last season.
There are still a few twists and turns left in this window but let’s hope the club manage to complete a further deal that the manager is keen on. It could be a late night!
