Replacing Joe Hart is going to be a tough task for Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers in this summer’s transfer window.
The Celtic boss knows that filling the Hoops hero’s gloves won’t be easy and the supporters know first-hand what can happen if the wrong player is put between the sticks.
Hart took over from Vasilis Barkas back in 2021. And whilst the Greek international has enjoyed a good season in the Eredivisie, the Celtic supporters still look back at his time at the club from behind the couch.
However, it seems that Brendan Rodgers has taken a big step to get Hart’s replacement in the building after reports from Germany suggest that Celtic have been in contact with Bayern Munich.
Celtic want Daniel Peretz
Bild has reported that Celtic have approached the Bundesliga giants about the possibility of taking Israeli international goalkeeper, Daniel Peretz on loan next season.
However, it seems that the Parkhead club face some stiff competition as six other clubs are said to be in pursuit of the 23-year-old.
Contracted to 2028, Peretz is also wanted by Anderlecht, FC Copenhagen and Nottingham Forest. La Liga clubs Sevilla and Villareal are also said to be interested as well as Josip Juranovic’s Union Berlin.
With first-team football up for grabs and the chance to win silverware and play in the Champions League, Celtic would be the ideal club for Peretz to showcase and develop his skills.

Bayern signed Peretz from Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv back in August 2023. [Bayern Munich FC] The Bundesliga giants describe him as ‘a modern goalkeeper with strong levels of athleticism and physicality’ and he also has a ‘party trick’ when it comes to penalties.
The German side says he has saved a ‘number of penalties’ as well as scoring twice from the spot kick whilst he was at Israeli second division side Beitar Tel Aviv in 2019.
Bayern paid $5.4m (£4.2m) for Peretz last summer and see this as the perfect time to get him out on loan for some much-needed game time. [Times of Israel]
