Celtic boss Neil Lennon has provided a transfer update that should please the Hoops report. As revealed on Sky Sports News and cited by Sky Sports, the Hoops have almost completed a deal for Christopher Jullien, whilst the David Turnbull deal is not dead.

Regarding Jullien, Lennon said ” He’s a player we’ve identified for a long time, even before my time here”. “Hopefully we can get that one over the line soon.”

Centre-half was badly needed

Fans will be particularly pleased with the news about the Toulouse centre-back Jullien. The club is in need of a centre-back in time for the Champions League qualifiers and Jullien looks to fit the bill.

It is interesting that Lennon disclosed that he is a player that has been on the club’s radar for a long time. That could bode well for his future with the club.

As for Turnbull, it looks like a case of wait and see. There is no doubt Celtic will want the deal to go ahead. However, we will have to see what the outcome of the talks between Celtic and Motherwell leads to. At least the Jullien deal looks like it will go ahead soon, and the Hoops will have completed their first transfer of the summer.
