Celtic have confirmed Moi Elyounoussi, Jonjoe Kenny and Diego Laxalt have made their exits from the club.

All three players’ loan contracts have now expired.

The news came in a short and simple tweet this evening. Celtic hadn’t commented on their situations until now.

The biggest miss will be Elyounoussi, who performed well over a two-year stint at the club. The attacker scored 24 goals and assisted 14 more in 67 appearances. [Transfermarkt]

He said his goodbyes on Instagram earlier this week.

Jonjoe Kenny and Diego Laxalt were less successful. Their positions on the left and right side of the defence became big weaknesses in the team and neither impressed supporters for an extended period.

Laxalt is thought to be on the verge of a permanent AC Milan exit, while Kenny’s future at Everton is unclear.

Celtic badly need bodies in the door in all three positions. Ideally, this would come before the upcoming Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland.

The club have brought midfielder Liam Shaw and defender Osaze Urhoghide in on free transfers from Sheffield Wednesday, but fans are craving major signings.

Ange Postecoglou and his squad travel to Wales next week to take part in a training camp and a number of pre-season friendlies.

Hopefully, we’ll see significant transfer movement along the way.

In other news, Hearts don’t want Celtic fans in for Scottish Premiership opener.
