A report claims that Celtic are considering making a move for a right-back. The Scottish Sun is reporting that the Hoops are contemplating making a move for FC Copenhagen’s Peter Ankersen.
The report claims that the player is leaving Denmark and that the Hoops are ‘aware’ of the situation. Celtic are in a real hurry to sign a right-back to replace Mikael Lustig.
A regular for Copenhagen

Perhaps Ankersen could fit the bill. He was a regular for Copenhagen last season, making 47 appearances. He was an ever present in their Europa League campaign.
Interestingly enough, the player only has one year left on his contract. Perhaps that is why he is leaving, he will not sign a new deal.

Newcastle previously interested
Ankersen has been the subject of speculation from teams in the British Isles before. A few years ago Newcastle were reportedly told that it would take £3.3 million to take the player to the Premier League.

There has to be a doubt that Copenhagen will still want that fee when he has only one year left on his contract. However, we won’t know until Celtic make an offer for the player.
As yet, no offer has been made. It is only speculation. However, Celtic will want a right-back signed before the Champions League qualifiers begin. Time will tell if Ankersen is the man they have targeted.
