The January transfer window is past the halfway stage and you wouldn’t blame the Celtic fan for thinking more incomings would already be through the door.
Nicolas Kuhn has sealed his switch to Celtic and now talk surrounds what other areas of the pitch are going to be boosted by Brendan Rodgers.
There has been long talk about another striker needing to come in to provide competition for Kyogo Furuhashi and Hyeongyu Oh – the latter is currently at the Asian Cup.
It was suggested, amid talk of Lawrence Shankland, that Celtic should push for his Scotland teammate, Lyndon Dykes instead.
Kenny Miller stated that he can understand that type of move making sense because he is a ‘more physical option’, but he also claimed that the QPR striker would ‘definitely be interested’ in a move to Celtic, as he told Clyde 1.
The 28-year-old has played across three clubs in his career and only played 28 Scottish Premiership matches, for Livingston, scoring 11 goals and supplying eight assists.
And, as of this moment, he is playing in a very poor QPR team, so you can’t really judge his qualities in that sense.
Lyndon Dykes to Celtic
“Lyndon Dykes, for instance, he is completely different to Kyogo,” said Miller.
“Does he bring a kind of signing that Giakoumakis provided, with that more physical option and somebody who works hard and came into his own? Scored a lot of goals for Celtic as well. Would Lyndon be that?
“I think that’s something Lyndon would definitely be interested in. Even to come in and compete with Kyogo, unlike the Shankland one, for me. Shankland is going to be a number one striker.”

Lyndon Dykes – a big no
Celtic need players to come in, not to fill the squad, but indirectly tell the player in their position that they will take their place.
Let’s be brutally honest, whilst Dykes has that power to his game, he is very strong in the air and has a physical presence.
He isn’t near the talent of Kyogo and wouldn’t dethrone him from the XI.
So, this is something that fans wouldn’t accept because it’s not a signing that would help take the team to the next level, or in Kuhn’s case, have the potential to do so.
