It looks like Celtic could be on the verge on completing their first signing of the summer. STV News is reporting that Christopher Jullien of Toulouse is to undergo a medical ahead of a potential move to the Scottish champions.
The report goes on to reveal that the clubs have agreed a fee of €8 million – just over £7 million – for the centre-back.
It is good news for the Hoops, coming so soon after the collapse of David Turnbull’s move from Motherwell to Celtic.

Centre-back is badly needed
The Hoops were badly needing a centre-back following the exits of Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic. It seems that Jullien fits the bill for the club.
The fact that the Hoops are spending so much money on the player indicates that he will be a first pick for the team going forward.

It will be intriguing to see if he plays in a partnership with Kristoffer Ajer, who was arguably the Hoops’ best defender last season.
Could join new team-mates in Austria

Hopefully the deal can be completed shortly, and Jullien can join his new team-mates on the pre-season tour of Austria.
Would it be too much of a gamble to give the player his debut in the Champions League against Sarajevo? Maybe not, considering the money the Hoops are spending on him.
Should the deal go through, this is a good start to the transfer window by Celtic.
