Celtic have lost a number of key academy talents in the past with fans, at times, questioning the process.

The Hoops have had to say goodbye to the likes of Liam Morrison, Barry Hepburn, Josh Adam and others over the course of the past number of years with clubs in the Premier League swooping for their talent.

Morrison and Hepburn moved to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga but Adam moved to Manchester City, Vincent Angelini switched to Watford and Ben Doak famously departed for Liverpool.

There are many others who have moved on and 67 Hail Hail understands Celts could be in line to potentially lose another with the big sides circling.

Celtic attacker Rocco di Giacomo is wanted by Arsenal

67 Hail Hail can exclusively reveal that Arsenal are keeping close tabs on creative wide player Rocco di Giacomo who can also play in the number 10 position and has done with the Hoops’ academy teams in recent seasons.

The 15-year-old is not yet old enough to put pen to paper on a professional deal in either Scotland or England and would have to wait to do so but that has not prevented the Gunners from taking a closer look at the attacker.

The English giants have already taken a punt in sending their scouting team to focus on Scottish talent.

St Johnstone teenage right-back Callan Hamill was permitted to head down from McDiarmid Park to the Emirates for a trial while he was shown around the grounds as Arsenal looked to get a leg-up on signing competition.

The promising full-back was also of interest to Celtic back in August but it looks like he’ll play his football next summer when eligible with the Gunners as they continue their foray into the Scottish market to find diamonds.

Di Giacomo, meanwhile, also has a lot of promise and has been watched by the bigger sides in the EPL who are all monitoring him closely.
