Ruthlessly ranking Celtic’s 10 summer signings amid winter break, no mercy afforded

Here, we rank Celtic’s 2023 summer recruitment now we have reached the Scottish Premiership winter break and the January transfer window.

Celtic went through a significant summer of change, at least when it comes to the club’s top managerial change.

Ange Posteocoglou sadly departed for Tottenham Hotspur and to many Hoops fans’ shock, Brendan Rodgers was selected as the Aussie-Greek’s replacement.

Regardless of how people felt about the eyebrow-raising return of Rodgers, Celtic had money in the bank and fans were expecting a marquee signing or two, especially given the sale of star winger Jota to Al-Ittihad for £25m.

Instead – and Rodgers has since admitted this – the 2023 summer window for Celtic left much to be desired. Almost £19m was spent on 10 players, with just two of those over the age of 23.

Many of the new recruits haven’t quite shown their full potential yet, which is perhaps expected when you bring in inexperience.

So, 67 Hail Hail have got ruthless by ranking the individual business done in the summer from 10-1 (worst to best) after five months of the 2023/24 season.
