Martin O’Neill on Daizen Maeda’s Celtic future
Daizen Maeda’s Celtic future has been up in the air since the start of the season.
Maeda revealed he wanted to leave last summer but the Hoops blocked a transfer away.
Reports then claimed he could be on the move in the January transfer window, but would be happy to stay until after the World Cup.
His form hasn’t been great by any means, but Martin O’Neill has said he will speak with Maeda before confirming what his next steps will be.

After joining, he admitted that he was delighted to get a fresh chance elsewhere.
He told the Koln website: “The move to Koln is a fresh start for me, and one I’m really looking forward to. As I looked into FC and the history around the club, I wanted to get started right away. Now I’m looking forward to getting to know my new team-mates – and Hennes, when I get back to Koln. I want to play as much as possible here and help FC to reach their goals this season.”
