History repeated itself in Scotland this season, for the umpteenth time.
Celtic started the campaign looking to defend their Premiership crown; Rangers talked the talk off the pitch, only to watch those in green and white lift the title at the end of it all.
Let’s not forget, Rangers spent a lot of money in the summer and during the January transfer window, only to finish third in a two-horse race.
Either way, Kris Boyd tried to get away with the suggestion that Aberdeen, who finished in the bottom half during the recently concluded campaign, were the ‘biggest disappointment’ of the campaign, before Celtic hero Chris Sutton put him right on the Warm-Up.
Boyd: “Only one for me, once again, Aberdeen football club – you could argue Rangers as well.”
Sutton: “I am glad you got that in.”
Sutton: “Is third good for Rangers for where they came from, though, under Russell (Martin)?”
Boyd: “No. I know you are on the wind-up. But, no.”
Sutton: “The fact that you answered that is amazing. It has to be Rangers. I don’t need to put the boot into them; they do that for themselves.”
Which Celtic player is most likely to leave this summer? 🤷♂️
Hatate? Maeda? Anyone else?

Celtic hero Chris Sutton provides Kris Boyd with a Rangers reality check
Even now, with Rangers signing Lawrence Shankland from Hearts, the noise has already started at Ibrox about what will happen next season.
But as Celtic patiently wait to appoint a new manager, you just know that the end outcome will be the same again, and again.
In all honesty, for Boyd to just half-heartedly mention that Rangers weren’t the ‘biggest disappointment’ this season is pretty laughable.
Yes, those at Aberdeen had a torrid time, including sacking their manager Jimmy Thelin in January, before waiting months to appoint Stephen Robinson.
But Celtic had one of their worst campaigns ever. It was chaotic everywhere you looked.
Yet it was the Hoops securing another domestic double, and the Gers ending the campaign trophyless, again!
Boyd: “Overall, as a club, for me, Aberdeen.”
Sutton: “He doesn’t like Aberdeen.”
Naismith: “I would say that Rangers are a bigger disappointment than Aberdeen.”
Sutton: “Of course they are. How many times have Rangers finished third? I know you celebrate second. But how many times have Rangers finished third?
“You are saying ‘Aberdeen’; they are sort of a yo-yo club. Yet Rangers finished third, and you are saying ‘Aberdeen have had a worse season and been a bigger disappointment.’
“Remember when we used to say ‘second is last.’ Where is third? I feel for you and Naismith. It’s not nice for your team every year to be rubbish. For you to be upbeat every year, I do admire you.”
