Celtic’s interest in Jocelin Ta Bi discussed by Hapoel Petah Tikva manager

Celtic’s festive transfer link is an interesting one this year.

As Wilfried Nancy looks to build his team in his image, there are a number of positions where the Hoops obviously need to strengthen.

A lack of quality in the team and long-term injuries to Jota, Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers add to the necessity.

Many fans haven’t got their hopes up given how windows have gone in the recent past; particularly the disastrous summer window.

And if reports are to be believed, Nancy’s search has led him to the Israeli Premier League for a teenage winger.

Celtic’s interest in Jocelin Ta Bi discussed by manager

According to Israeli reports via the Daily Record, the £500,000-rated forward is someone that the Celts are having a look at.

Ta Bi is currently on loan at Maccabi Netanya from Hapoel Petah Tikva.

A left-footer who plays on the right, Ta Bi has been ever-present for his club this season, despite his tender age.

The Ivorian would offer Celtic a profile they have not had since the departure of Nicolas Kuhn.

Hapoel Petah Tikva boss Omer Peretz was asked about Celtic’s interest in the teenager ahead of their Israeli Cup tie this week.

He said: “At things stand, we have received no indication from Maccabi Netanya about an offer for Jocelin and he remains our player.

“We would also have a say in the matter because he is contracted to us until the end of the season.”

Clearly, no progress made on the interest as of yet.

Should Celtic re-sign Kyogo in January?

Celtic’s other January transfer targets

Irish defender Vinnie Leonard has been linked with Celtic this week, but as a 17-year-old player, he would be unable to join until the summer.

Louis Munteanu and Wessam Abou Ali are two strikers who have been widely linked, but reports this week have indicated that neither will be signing for Celtic.

Evan Ferguson looks likely to return to Brighton in January, after struggling on loan at Roma. It remains to be seen if the Hoops can enter the race to sign him.

Midfielder Issa Doumbia is another name to have popped up.
